Shutter Island and Boardwalk Empire

I had the chance to see Shutter Island and I have to say that it was very underwhelming, Scorsese usually hits it out of the park for the most part but this was a definite miss. Great cast, great effects but the plot didn't land from the beginning.

It followed along the lines of Identity but minus that WOW factor, the good thing for Martin Scorsese fans is that Boardwalk Empire on HBO is an awesome series, great storyline, great actors, I wish that the casting was more in line to what the real people were like Al Capone, Lucky Luciano and Arnold Rothstein, and looking forward to seeing Meyer Lansky, Bugsy and Frank Costello if they added them to the story.

All these guys from that era cross paths at one point or another so even the great Dutch Schultz would slip into this story line.

Anyhow great show and looking forward to this being around for some time as the flavor of True Blood has bittered a bit due to the over the top last episodes bringing fairies, werewolves, shapeshifters and vampires all in one dinky town, a little much.
