THE HARDCORE KID KNOCKS OUT KING MO IN THE 1ST ROUND

In the world of Mixed Martial Arts you can never underestimate your opponent, never take for granted that their standup may be weaker than yours or that their ground game may be better than yours. The fact of the matter I DON'T care who you are and what you have done in the UFC or Bellator or anywhere, you have to live in the present and focus on ONE fight at a time not discount your current opponent to get to a Title Shot.

A Title Shot will come when it does, even in a Tourney but the Journey to that point has to be focused on one fight at a time. Last night at the LIVE Bellator Tournament event  King Mo talked a lot of smack leading up to the fight, trying to psych out Newton but when a guy had everything taken away from him as Newton has and he found something in his life that has given him LIFE then that won't do the damage expected.

Reality: King Mo took Newton for granted, as an annoyance that he had to close down in order to get that golden belt, but he took his eye off the ball, you could see it when he walked out. His swagger, his energy, none of it showed me that he was set for this bout.

After a series of exchanges where Newton was very calculated with his blows it took one unexpected backhand to the chin of King Mo that took him out, that tap shook the foundation of the Kingdom that Mo has been building and with that the opportunity for a title shot was shut out for now.

I think that King Mo's camp will learn from this and he'll come back stronger in the future but for now its Emanuel Newton that moves one step closer to Bellator Gold, the Hardcore Kid showed the world that all you have to do is SHOW UP and the opportunity is there for you, in the octagon or in life itself.
