"THE BEAUTY THAT SLAYED THE BEAST" TWITTER Q&A WITH UK IFBB PRO LOUISE ROGERS
UK based IFBB Figure Pro Louise Rogers is what you may call a beauty that slayed the beast, she is a fierce competitor with a side of her that will make you laugh even when you don't want to. In the world of bodybuilding and fitness she is definitely someone that both women and men grab some inspiration from.
In this issue of the UCW Magazine Louise is taking to twitter for a question and answer session with her followers, she is very much so plugged into the social networking deal and makes it a point to connect with her fans and followers with her daily motivational words or just something off the wall that will make you smile.
So with that said here are some questions posed by Louise Roger twitter followers that she answered one by one:
Who inspired me to compete?
Easy one – Monica Brant and Jenny Lynn.. Both ladies have amazing physiques and I thought I would like to create something similar in myself.
How do I get so lean?
It’s actually not too difficult – the diet is rather boring… but I execute my prep very consistently.
I draw up my diet and calculate and calories, macros etc… I prefer a low fat, high protein diet with a moderate amount of carbohydrates. I have also done some natural carb cycling in the past and that also works quite well for me. I eat like a ‘bodybuilder’ all year round – I enjoy a healthy diet and when it comes to show prep it’s normally just a case of reducing my portions and lowering my fats a bit more.
I use cardio as a supplement but for the most part I rely on a good diet, which is followed consistently… that means I don’t eat rubbish at weekends, and I rarely drink!
What are my favourite workouts tunes?
I listen to all sorts… I really have quite an eclectic mix on my iphone… I suppose anything from Tiesto and Carl Kennedy, to Queen and the Jam! Bit random J
Worst gym etiquette I’ve seen?
Hmm… I suppose in the commercial gyms I tend to see people sat on equipment watching tv or on the phone. Fair enough if they want to do that, but don’t hog the kit!
Fat burners – do I use them?
No not really, to be honest I find they can give me a bit of a crash and usually I feel tired enough when I’m doing a show diet.
How do I remain focused and motivated to diet down?
I’ve been doing it years now, and I have led this lifestyle since I was 19 years old so I am rather used to it really. However yes at times I do have down days like anyone does… but competing at this level I would not what to embarrass myself by committing to a show and not putting in the hard graft. Obviously it would show on stage if I have not worked hard…
Although I also love the challenge of it all... a show diet is approximately 12 weeks – and really what is 12 weeks of your life on the grand scale of things? It’s not a lot of time so I feel I would rather focus and do it well! I’m a highly goal driven person and usually when I’ve picked a goal I will stop at nothing until I’ve smashed it.
What is my favourite cardio?
Power walking easy! Although I do enjoy kettle bell training too!
